Designed by the renowned golf course architect Dave Thomas, our Championship course is a relatively open parkland design with water features, large bunkers and devilish rough to keep you honest and on track. High-spec irrigation and drainage keeps the course in excellent condition throughout the year with four tee positions on every hole. The course offers an enticing challenge to golfers of all abilities, not forgetting the stunning views of the surrounding Hertfordshire countryside.

Course highlights

8th

The 8th is a 336 yard par 4 that will test your mettle from tee to green. A large lake runs the entire length of the right hand side of the fairway and a large bunker is strategically placed on the left hand side to catch your drive, accuracy off the tee is essential. When you have successfully navigated the tee shot your second to a split level two tier green is protected by two large bunkers. The green itself as mentioned already is not only on two tiers but also quite narrow. Two putts is never a certainty.

14th

The second of two consecutive par 5s, the 562 yard 14th is the less difficult of the two but don’t be deceived. Not only is it longer but there are many features to snare the unwary including large bunkers, gorse bushes and a severely sloping green. If you have the length and are able to remain online a birdie is possible here.

16th

The 390 yard 16th is our signature par 4. A kidney-shaped lake dominates the right hand side of the fairway with a bunker and gorse bushes that line the left hand side, driver off the tee is not for the feint hearted. The smart tee shot is a long iron to the heart of the fairway, leaving you a long but dry second towards the green. A large bunker at the front of the green will swallow up anything that is short along with one on the left that awaits the wayward. It’s a challenging hole and par is a very good score.
